The Institute held its fourth National Education Management Conference from 17th to 18th June 2014 at KEMI Headquarters. The theme of the conference was ‘Re-energizing Education Performance’. It was attended by school heads and deputies from Nairobi County.

The sub-themes of the 4th KEMI conference included: learning from success: pedagogy and curriculum, assessment and evaluation, early childhood learning, learning in higher education, special education, technologies in education, adult and continuing education, science and mathematics learning, TIVET, child friendly schools and education management.

This conference was motivated by the need to improve the performance of our educational institutions. The 4th KEMI Education Management conference enabled participants to share best practices and new trends for increasing performance at all levels of education; appropriate learning environments for improved performance in educational institutions; innovations that have impacted on education performance.

The 4th KEMI National Conference followed the success of KEMI’s previous conferences.

The 3rd KEMI Education Management conference on “Capacity Development of Education Managers towards achievement of Education for All (EFA) Goals” was held in June 2013 at KEMI. This conference attracted international delegates from countries such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Ethiopia, USA, South Sudan, Uganda, England and India

The 2nd KEMI National Education Management Conference on ‘Building Sustainable Quality Education in the context of Vision 2030’ was held at the Aga Khan Sports Centre in Mombasa in April 2012. This conference was attended by the District Education Officers and District Quality Assurance Officers.

The 1st KEMI National Conference on ‘Innovation and Education Management’ held on May 2010 at the KICC. This conference attracted 300 participants and showcased 44 presentations on innovation in education management.
